Still working on the black Edwardian gown. The middle of a project seems to always be where it seems like it will take forever. The bunches of velvet grapes on the dress are tedious work. I’ve done about 125 of them so far, and do not yet have the amount needed to finish the skirt.
I have been working on the dress since February, the goal is to have it complete by mid-July for costume college 2019.
While making the velvet grape buttons in fits and starts, I have also been working on the under blouse and underskirt. I’ve decided to attach the under blouse to the underskirt to ensure nothing will come untucked during wear. I will put the top and bottom on individual waistbands, so that I could use the pieces separately in the future. I’ll do the same with the black overdress.
